Our school is on the private lagoon inside the condominium in Pernambuca — no boat traffic, no waves, no interruptions. Just you, the kite and the wind.

How do lessons work at Alternative Kite?
All lessons are individual — one student per CREF certified instructor. We offer two formats: a full 8-hour course, ideal for beginners, and drop-in hourly lessons for those with a base. All equipment and life jacket included.
Do I need to know how to swim?
Yes, basic swimming is mandatory for safety. The lagoon is shallow, but knowing how to swim is a school requirement.
What is the minimum age?
From 12 years old, with parental consent and supervision.
What if there's no wind on my lesson day?
We reschedule at no extra cost. Since wind drives the schedule, students with advance payment get priority for the next wind windows, especially on weekends.
Is equipment included?
Just bring sunscreen, swimwear and a towel. All kitesurf or wingfoil equipment, including a safety life jacket, is provided by the school.
How many lessons until I can ride alone?
It depends on the student. Most students complete their first independent runs by the end of the 8-hour full course.
Does Alternative Kite issue a certificate?
Yes, you'll receive a school certificate upon completing the full course.
What is the best time of year to learn?
Between July and January, when wind is consistent in the region. Outside this window there are still good days, but they're less predictable.
Where exactly is the school?
In Pernambuca, Arraial do Cabo, on Lagoa de Araruama. The school has private lagoon access inside a gated condominium — no boat traffic and safe for beginners.
Is the support boat included in the lesson price?
No. The boat service is optional and priced separately. It's useful for advanced students who want to ride different spots on the lagoon.
How does payment work?
We accept Pix and credit card (installments available). Advance payment reserves your spot — and gives you priority for the next wind windows.
How do I check prices?
Prices are shared on first contact via WhatsApp, as they depend on what you need (full course or drop-in, kite or wing). Message us — we reply fast.
